In our lives, there are various types of springs that are used in various fields and have significant effects. There are three common types of springs: compression springs, tension springs, and torsion springs. Their shapes and functions are different. Let’s take a look.
Compression spring
Compression spring, which is an axial compression spring, is made of circular cross-section material and can also be wrapped with rectangular and multi strand steel coils. The spring is usually of pitch, such as the shape of the compression spring, cylindrical, conical, convex and concave, and a small amount of non-circular. There is a certain space between the rings of the compression spring. When the spring contracts and deforms under external load, it stores energy.
Pull spring
A tension spring is a spiral spring that carries an axial tension spring, and is generally made of circular cross-section material. Under no-load conditions, the tension spring between the rings is generally tight and there is no gap. Widely used in machinery and instruments for controlling part movement, storing force, measuring force, etc. The forms of hooks include side hook springs, long hook springs, English hook springs, German hook springs, semi-circular hook springs, duckbill hook springs, etc. The materials used include stainless steel, harp steel, high carbon steel, phosphor copper, oil tempered alloy spring steel, etc.
Torsion spring
The torsion spring (torsion spring) utilizes the lever principle to transform or rotate flexible materials with softness and high toughness, giving them great mechanical energy. It is a spring that can withstand torsional deformation, and its working part also surrounds each circle, either closed or separated. The end structure of the torsion spring can be processed into various shapes of torsion arms according to design, ranging from single torsion to double torsion, as well as various deformations of torsion bars. Torque springs are commonly used in mechanical balancing and are widely used in industrial production such as automobiles, machine tools, and electrical appliances.
A spring is a mechanical component that relies on elasticity to work, usually made of spring steel. It is widely used in machinery and instruments to control the movement of mechanical components, reduce impact or vibration, store energy, and measure force. The types of springs are complex and diverse. According to their shape, there are mainly compression springs, tension springs, springs, etc.
